Bottles for Bronx
Goalkeeper’s Bottles for Bronx event was held at Chase Park, just steps from the Crane Road entrance to the Bronx River Path. Over the last four years, more than 200,000 pieces of garbage, primarily plastic bottles, have been removed from the Bronx River, with 67% traced back to Westchester runoff. Through the sale of reusable RPET water bottles and Bronx River Passports (interactive booklets guiding visitors to key ecological and historic sites along the river), the pop-up raised $1000 and raised awareness about river health and plastic pollution. All proceeds went to the Bronx River Alliance, which works to restore the river’s ecology, and educate communities about the river’s role as a recreational and environmental asset for Bronx and Westchester communities.
