Goalkeeper is a student run organization that grew from small responses to things we noticed, here and abroad.

It started with our basketball coach from Senegal, whose stories about the lack of resources for athletes led us to start fundraising for clean water, uniforms, basketball camps, and soccer programs in Dakar.

But we also started paying attention at home. We saw closets packed with gear and nowhere for it to go but landfills. That’s what led to our zero-dollar jersey pop-ups and sneaker drives, giving new life to items that would’ve been thrown away.

We also realized how many incredible, free outdoor spaces and programs exist right here in NYC, if people only knew about them. So we started working on guides to help more communities access what’s already out there.

Over time, these efforts have become something bigger: a way to expand access, reuse resources, and support opportunity where it’s needed most.
